14 December, 1.00–2.30pm (UTC): (UTC) ‘Mentoring teacher-research as a local educational authority initiative’ – webinar on the SCERT Delhi action research mentoring project. Register here
SCERT, the Delhi Government wing for teacher education took up the initiative in 2021 to involve teachers in their primary, middle and high schools to take up action research in their own contexts. Following a successful symposium held exactly a year ago, with the first batch of teacher researchers and their mentors presenting their work and a keynote speech by Richard Smith, mentors of the second batch will talk about their mentoring journey from their own and their mentees’ perspectives. The webinar will also highlight the different kinds of transition they have made: from a teacher to a researcher, from a researcher to a research mentor, from a private school to a public school context and much more. Introduced by Professor Rama Mathew, recent winner of the British Council’s ELTons Outstanding Achievement Award.
